All Aboard Westcliffe is an organization of people who like history and trains too. It’s a good thing because the town of Westcliffe was founded quite a while ago by the Denver and Rio Grand Railroad to service the silver and gold camps of the Wet Mountain Valley. The mining camps are gone now and the railroad is gone but the town of Westcliffe survives along with the people of the Wet mountain Valley. All Aboard Westcliffe, Inc. exists to tell their many stories. One story is of a baby railroad that came to this valley not once but twice. Another story is of the German Colfax Colony from Chicago in the 1870's. Still another is of prominent English families "Second Sons" who came to this valley to settle in and start our ranching heritage. And of course the many mining tales that interweave with our railroad history. Come hear their stories.

All Aboard Westcliffe is an all volunteer organization made up of multi-talented people, young and old, from all walks of life---just like you---who share a common love of history. Please join in an effort to preserve our PAST heritage for FUTURE generations to enjoy and understand, we ask for your participation in the PRESENT.

Some of the displays include a Google Earth Lan Sat collage of the old Texas Creek/Westcliffe branch of thr D&RGRR that came into this valley into the early 1900's, a timeline of Custer County History and it's relationship to the railroads, a working section car or speeder used by the section crew to maintain the rails, bridges and roadbed of this Westcliffe spur, and much more.
