Creativity Camp gives children an opportunity to experience the theater, many for the first time. Students get the chance to learn about the many roles in the theater that it takes to put on a performance, culminating in public performances that are part of the WCPA season ticket program.
| The Westcliffe Center for the Performing Arts (WCPA) has become a key economic and cultural force in this small, rural mountain town of Westcliffe and surrounding areas. WCPA serves more than 10,000 patrons annually who attend the Center's film and live theater performances. The Center is housed permanently in the historic Jones Theatre, Westcliffe, Colorado, which dates from the late eighteen hundreds. Another of the objectives of the Center is to assist in the preservation of the historic building, and to continue to use it for cultural and civic activities.

| The Mission of the organization is to enhance the quality of life for people in the contiguous rural towns of Westcliffe and Silver Cliff, Custer County and of surrounding counties through regular cultural and
artistic performances, and to provide activities for children, youths and families. The goals are to serve as a home for the performing arts where none existed before, and to introduce, and to train, local young people and adults in acting, directing and production in music, dance and drama, and eventually to develop a repertory company. |
|   |
| Studio 2 was built to enhance the Center's capability to contribute to the community. It provides space for the youth's and children's theater, scene and costume shops, space for other community activities, additional handicapped bathrooms, and minimum housing for visiting theatrical personnel, who will come to staff a summer repertory company. With a repertory company, the Center will then be able to expand its present programs, move them into a more suitable space than the existing theater, and increase the number of live programs, including two live simultaneously, and still include weekly film showing. |
