Wetmore Post Office Before Restoration, December 2007
| The Society was established in 2005 and immediately applied for 501(c)(3) status. The Society purchased the Wetmore Post Office building in October, 2007. The building was declared a "Designated Historic Property" by the National and State Historical Societies in May, 2008.

| The Post Office was built in approximately 1873 and has had a number of additions and remodels over the years. The Society remodeled the building to include a meeting room, a small library and a small museum, a handicap entrance and restroom. The library acts as a repository for all the historical references from several generations of families that have lived in and origianlly homesteaded in the Hardscrabble area. |

| The Society has Historical Playing Cards for sale for $10 per deck. Each card (54 cards) depicts an actual historical photo from the Hardscrabble area. |
