Mission
The High Mountain Hay Fever Children’s Health Fund was established by a gift from the HMF Bluegrass Festival Association to address and improve children’s health in Custer County. It is administered by the Wet Mountain Valley Community Foundation.
About
The HMHF Children’s Health Fund was initiated in 2015 with an initial, substantial donation by the High Mountain Hay Fever Festival Association. Through a contractual agreement with the Wet Mountain Valley Community Foundation, the fund is managed by the WMVCF, and funds are available to local governmental agencies and nonprofit organizations through a yearly grant process. A committee of health aware community members was appointed to administer a grant cycle process for children’s programs that address physical, emotional, social, and educational health needs for children, ages birth to 18 years. Continued support for the Children’s Health Fund is buoyed by yearly donations from the Bluegrass Festival Association as it’s major supporter, Spirit Campaign donations, and private donations.
The grant application for this fund is located on this website continuously throughout the year. Grant submissions are accepted online or by mail by February 15th of the current grant cycle year.
The Children’s Health Fund grant process is a great source for local funding for children’s health programs, with available guidance through the grant process, grant applications that are short and easy to complete, workshop information and assistance early in the grant cycle, an annual report that can be submitted online or by mail, and a committee who cares about our community and our children’s well-being.
