To produce a high quality yet small scale bluegrass music festival in the Wet Mountain Valley the second weekend in July, and to generate funds for the Custer County nonprofits.
High Mountain Hay Fever Bluegrass Festival Association (HMHF) is the sponsoring organization of an annual four-day bluegrass festival in Westcliffe during the second weekend of July, featuring nationally recognized performers. The High Mountain Hay Fever Bluegrass Festival is a nonprofit effort to enhance the Wet Mountain Valley as a quality event destination that benefits the entire community. The festival has also raised over $600,000 for Wet Mountain Valley charitable organizations since the event was founded in 2003. The High Mountain Hay Fever Festival Association is run by an incredible group of volunteers who work year round to make the festival happen. The festival remains an intimate event, avoiding the sprawl and congestion of large festivals while offering nationally recognized bluegrass talent, remaining true to its motto: “Small Scale, Big Time”.
