Sangre de Cristo Hospice and Palliative care was founded in 1985 in Pueblo, Colorado by a handful of committed volunteers who wanted to bring quality compassionate end of life care to Southern Colorado. With a mission to maintain the integrity of individuals and their families in need of supportive or end-of-life services, Sangre de Cristo Hospice and Palliative Care offers symptom management, support, comfort, and compassion.
As the largest non-profit hospice in Southern Colorado, Sangre de Cristo Hospice and Palliative Care serves over 22,000 square miles including the counties of Pueblo, Park, Chaffee, Fremont, Custer, Huerfano, Las Animas, Lincoln, Crowley, Otero , Bent and Kiowa. Since its inception, the organization has served more than 15,000 patients and their families through hospice, palliative and bereavement services including charity for uninsured and underinsured patients.
