Creativity and community thrive here. Support your local library during the Spirit Campaign!
Your library provides free access to books, e-books, movies, technology, educational and consumer resources. We also check out sports equipment, a metal detector, a telescope and lots of other non-traditional materials. We have zoo passes and state parks passes. Hotspots. A sewing machine. And more. If you haven’t stopped in lately, come in to see what a modern library does. No SHHH-ing here! We are a hub of Custer County activities.
But a public library goes far beyond just lending. We have free public computers and internet access. You can improve job and computer skills for no cost through online tutorials or one-on-one sessions with a librarian. We see to it that every child in Custer County ages 0-5 gets a free monthly age-appropriate book so they can learn and learn to love reading. You can learn and create with always-free seminars and events for infants through adults: the Play to Learn playgroup for infants through pre-K, Camp Happiness for K-4th, monthly Teen Events, Creative Spaces, family activities, the Summer Reading Program and patron-inspired programs for everyone.
